Revision History
A running, dated record of meaningful changes to ReView-CVS. This isn't marketing copy — it's built directly against real workshop use, GTS's own beta testing, and DVSA's actual documentation, and this page reflects that as it happens.
Revision 10Job card workflow now works identically from a phoneAugust 2026
The Pool → In Progress → On Hold → Finished flow and the five defect outcomes introduced in Revision 8 now work the same way from the technician mobile app as they do on desktop — Start, On Hold, and Finished on the job sheet screen, with the same repaired / schedule repair / customer to sort / monitor / no further action choices when a defect needs deciding. Every labour line now shows who actually wrote it, not just whoever the job's billing rate is set to. A few gaps from the original build were also closed in the process: mobile-raised defects now use the same wording as desktop, and the old single-technician claim on a job card — retired in Revision 8 — no longer gets silently re-applied when an inspection is started.
Revision 9Arrival condition photos, brake temperature, tyre age codes, and a formal manager sign-off stepAugust 2026
Job cards now have an optional Arrival button — one photo each of all four corners plus the cab or odometer, filed against the vehicle's own record so pre-existing damage is on file before work starts. Brake temperature recording added to the per-axle brake grid, and tyre date/age codes to the tread depth and pressure grid — both required for a defensible inspection record, neither was optional to leave out. Converting a signed-off job sheet to an invoice now stops at an explicit confirmation — "Sign off inspection as completed" — recorded against the workshop manager by name, not assumed. Customer and vehicle pickers throughout the app are now type-to-search instead of long dropdown lists.
Revision 8Job card workflow and full defect audit trailAugust 2026
Job cards now move through a clear Pool → In Progress → On Hold → Finished flow, with every labour line attributed to whoever actually wrote it. Raising a defect on an attached inspection pushes straight onto the job card in real time. Finishing a job with unresolved defects requires each one to be classified — repaired, scheduled for a dedicated repair visit, flagged for the customer's next visit, carried to the next scheduled service, or recorded as no action with a written reason. Nothing reaches the output sheet unaccounted for.
Revision 7Expanded inspection libraryAugust 2026
Added Interim Safety Check (for vehicles up to 3.5T), LOLER tail lift thorough examination and weight test certificates, and Logistics UK format Preventative Maintenance Inspections for both trailers and motor vehicles — alongside the existing DVSA Annex 4A statutory inspection. Each is a genuine like-for-like structure, not a generic checklist stretched to fit.
Revision 6Record locking for multi-user workshopsAugust 2026
A job sheet or inspection open on one screen now shows as locked to everyone else, with a live notification the moment it's free again — so two people can never silently overwrite each other's work on the same record.
Revision 5Remote technician accessAugust 2026
Technicians can now reach their workshop's live data from a phone anywhere with signal — not just on the workshop WiFi — installable as an app with no port-forwarding, tunnels, or network configuration required from the workshop itself.
Revision 4Owner and Operator recorded separately2026
Vehicles now track Owner and Operator as two independent, properly linked records — for the common case of a vehicle owned by one company and leased or contract-hired by another, which a single "customer" field could never represent correctly.
Revision 3Technician licensing and portal2026
Seat-based technician licensing, with a central portal for organisation-and-PIN sign-in, so seat quotas are enforced properly rather than trusted to an honesty system.
Revision 2DVSA Annex 4A safety inspection system2026
Full statutory periodic safety inspection built to DVSA's actual Annex 4A item structure — not a tidied-up approximation of it — covering vehicles and trailers, with defect recording, photo evidence, and sign-off.
Revision 1Core workshop document trail2026
Vehicles, customers, parts and the full estimate → job sheet → invoice document trail, built around how HGV workshop paperwork actually needs to flow, from a working relationship with a real commercial vehicle workshop.
