Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These terms apply to ReView (review-cvs.com and the ReView desktop application) only. By downloading, installing, or using ReView, you accept these terms in full.
1. Software Licence
- ReView is a Windows desktop application for HGV workshop and fleet management, provided under a paid licence purchased through Stripe. A free demo mode is available with reduced record limits, for evaluation before purchase.
- Each licence code is single-use and activates one installation, network user copy, or named technician seat. Licence codes are personal to the purchasing organisation and non-transferable between organisations. There is no time limit on an activated licence.
- Licence activation requires an internet connection at the point of activation. There is no offline activation path.
- Purchases are one-off payments, not subscriptions. Except where required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for distance purchases, licence purchases are non-refundable once the code has been issued and activated, as digital licence delivery is treated as fulfilled on issue.
- ReView is a business tool for workshop and compliance record-keeping. It is not a substitute for professional DVSA/VOSA advice, and we accept no liability for compliance decisions made using data recorded in the software. Users remain responsible for the accuracy of inspection records and for meeting their own statutory obligations.
- We accept no liability for data loss, downtime, or errors arising from use of the software, though we will endeavour to maintain licence validation services and provide reasonable support.
2. Technician Accounts and the Technician Portal
- Technician seats are purchased by, and administered exclusively by, the organisation's own main licence holder ("the admin"). We do not create, verify, or manage individual technician accounts, and have no ability to add a technician to an organisation's account directly.
- The admin is solely responsible for creating technician logins, setting and communicating PINs, and for the accuracy of the name and organisation details entered when creating each technician user. A PIN acts as that technician's credential for both local and portal access — the admin is responsible for choosing and managing PINs securely.
- The technician portal (review-cvs.com) allows a technician to authenticate with their organisation name and PIN in order to download ReView. This authentication check exists to limit downloads to genuine, currently-active seats within the organisation's purchased quota; it is not itself the primary login system, and grants no access to any organisation's data. Actual day-to-day sign-in happens locally, within the customer's own installation, on the customer's own network.
- Deleting a technician user within ReView frees that seat for reassignment. Deactivating a user is a temporary pause only and does not free the seat. The admin is responsible for removing technicians who leave the organisation or should no longer have access.
- We log technician download events (organisation name, technician name, IP address, and timestamp) against the purchasing organisation's account, for licence quota enforcement and detecting unauthorised or excessive use.
3. Automatic Updates
- ReView periodically checks for newer versions and may prompt you to download and install an update. Installing an update requires you to actively choose to proceed; updates are never installed without this confirmation.
- Update downloads and installation require an internet connection. If declined, ReView continues to prompt on subsequent use rather than installing automatically.
- We aim to ensure updates are tested and reliable but accept no liability for data loss, downtime, or compatibility issues arising from an update, beyond our general obligations under section 1 above.
4. Cloud Backup
- A licensed install may automatically back up its local data once every 24 hours to our licence server, so it can be restored onto a replacement installation using your organisation name and a licence code.
- This is a backup service, not a guarantee. It exists to help recover most of your data after a lost or failed PC — it is not a real-time system, and we cannot guarantee that every record will be returned exactly as it was.
- Backups may be up to 24 hours old at the point of loss. Anything entered since the last successful backup will not be included in a restore.
- Up to 5 days of backups are retained per organisation — oldest is automatically removed once that many exist. A restore uses the most recent one by default.
- We accept no liability for data loss, including where a backup was unavailable, out of date, or a restore did not return all data. You remain responsible for keeping your own additional copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
5. Purchase Records
Licence codes are sent once, by email, at the time of purchase. This is the only record we send. If this email is lost, we do not offer a service to look up or resend a purchase record — please keep it somewhere safe.
6. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, cost, damage, or expense — including lost profit, lost business, lost data, lost time, or costs of any replacement service — arising from any failure, defect, bug, downtime, data loss, security incident, or unavailability of ReView, however caused. Where any liability cannot lawfully be excluded (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud), nothing in these terms limits or excludes that liability. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with ReView shall not exceed the amount you paid in the preceding 12 months, and we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
8. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of ReView constitutes acceptance. Current terms are always available at this page.
